“Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere; go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born,” an African-American spiritual song, compiled by John Wesley Work Jr., dates back to at least 1865.

While not all people are called to “go” to the mountain, all of God’s people are called to support spreading the Good News of His offer of life with Him – now and eternally. We at Providence Presbyterian Church take these words to heart. We support international missions from several sites in Africa to Cuba to Mexico. We support college ministries such as Cru and Reformed University Fellowship. We support sister Presbyterian Church of America ministries in Amarillo and Dallas. We support a variety of local ministries such as

  • to people who are trying to adapt to a different culture
  • to women in a crisis pregnancy situation
  • to confused teenage moms
  • to people struggling with identity issues
  • to Gideon’s International.

Mission to the World (MTW; www.mtw.org) is a worldwide missional community and, through its love for the gospel of grace, it collaborates in transformative church-planting and renewal movements.

As a family within the Presbyterian Church in America, MTW has the joy and privilege to be involved in over 80 nations, with some 640 long-term missionaries, laboring in partnership with almost twice that number of international colleagues, together with many stateside churches and national staff.

Apart from MTW, two examples of mission outreach supported by the church are:
